Abstract
Outpatient intravenous antimicrobial therapy has been widely accepted over the past decade. Knowledge of both the pharmacokinetics of antimicrobials a nd the pharmacodynamics predictive of antimicrobial efficacy enables one to design reasonable outpatient intravenous regimens for most agents. This ar ticle summa rites current knowledge of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodyn amics of agents commonly used in outpatient intravenous treatment regimens.
