Abstract
Methods for determining petroleum products in the environment are surveyed. Among them are methods used in routine water and soil analysis; more sophi sticated methods, such as gas chromatography and chromatography-mass spectr ometry; and remote sensing methods for determining petroleum pollution. The recognition of sources of petroleum pollutants and the analysis of weather ed and degraded petroleum products are also considered.
