Titrimetric determination of primary, secondary, and tertiary amino groupsin amine epoxy hardeners

Procedures are proposed for the determination of primary, secondary, and te rtiary amino groups in polyethylenepolyamine. In these procedures, the prod ucts that formed in the reaction of polyethylenepolyamine with acetic and m aleic anhydrides in a mixture of water and an organic solvent are titrated with an aqueous solution of an acid using the potentiometric or visual dete ction of the titration end-point. The procedure does not require prolonged heating of the reagents at the stage of sample preparation; pyridine and ac etic acid are not used in the analysis.
