C. Lafforgue et al., PERCUTANEOUS-ABSORPTION OF A CHLORHEXIDINE DIGLUCONATE SOLUTION, International journal of pharmaceutics, 147(2), 1997, pp. 243-246
Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic widely used to clean the skin. The pres
ent work compare the percutaneous diffusion of Hibitane(R) through hai
rless rat skin with or without stratum corneum. For the tests carried
out on whole skin, the storage is more important than the diffusion; t
he reverse was observed for stripped skin. The results are discussed a
ccording the composition of the commercial solution and the physicoche
mical characteristics of chlorhexidine digluconate. (C) 1997 Elsevier
