Abstract
As the concept of picture archival communication systems (PACS) gathers mom entum, the vision of a filmless digital department and digital image manage ment has become a reality. This report will discuss the experiences of a ma jor health-care institution with implementation of a large-scale PACS, Spec ifically, we discuss success with a modular, nonproprietary, multivendor so lution that offers flexibility and state of the art functionality at our in stitution.
