Abstract
Woodscaping-combining forest management and landscaping principles to creat e natural beauty, wildlife habitat, and recreational opportunities around one 's own home-is proving more relevant than traditional forestry to many smal l woodland owners. In Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, some ow ners of 4 to 25 acres of woodland are employing help, but most are do-it-yo urselfers in need of information and products. Where extension services do not have the resources to reach this part of the increasingly fragmented fo rested landscape, enterprising foresters might fill the niche.
