Structural phase transitions of a martensitic type in cubic ferromagnets ar
e theoretically investigated. These transitions are accompanied by spin-reo
rientation phase transitions. The full phase diagram of structural and magn
etic phase transitions is constructed. It is shown that in a ferromagnet a
lattice instability can lead to the appearance of an angular phase and 2nd
order phase transitions. In turn, parameter changes in a magnet:ic subsyste
m can lead to isostructural phase transitions. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.
