The ultraviolet photoemission spectrum of a layered-perovskite superconduct
or Sr2RuO4 around the Fermi level is considerably different from the densit
y of states obtained by a band calculation based on the local density appro
ximation. Although the significant spectral weight redistribution is consid
ered to be evidence of the large electron correlation in this system, the e
ffective mass is not so enhanced. A possible scenario to coordinate both th
