Abstract
The preferential hydrolytic cleavage of an Al-N versus an AI-C bond allows for the isolation of the base stabilized alkylalumoxane, [(Bu-t)(2)Al{NH(Me )CH2CH2NMe2}](2)(mu-O), from the hydrolysis of the intra-molecularly stabil ized amino-amide compound, (Bu-t)(2)Al[N(Me)CH2CH2NMe2], providing a possib le general route to alkylalumoxanes.
