Abstract
We investigate the origin of the induced absorption in CdSe quantum dots in borosilicate glass by using pump-probe spectroscopy and self-saturated pum p-probe spectroscopy. The change in the absorption spectrum above the bandg ap is found to be due to electrons in trap levels. The induced absorption a round 520 nm occurs due to electrons in trap levels which again absorb the probe beam.
