Abstract
Unreinforced plastics expand more under heat than metals. By employing calc ulation methods at an early stage, combined with knowledge of how the mater ials behave under heat as well as experience in the design of fastening ele ments, it is possible to integrate plastics car body parts into existing, s tructures, with no loss of function or reliability.
