Abstract
In all the usual analog and digital information storage media for speech, m usic, pictures/films and data, plastics, i.e. polymers, are widely used as carrier films/substrate materials and in some cases also as binders for the information layers. In records and compact disks, the substrate and inform ation layer form a single unit.
