Abstract
In subsynchronous resonance (SSR) systems where shaft systems of turbi ne-generator sets are coupling with electric networks, Hopf bifurcatio n will occur under certain conditions. Some singularity phenomena may generate when the hysteretic behavior of couplings in the shaft system s is considered. In this paper, the intrinsic multiple-scale harmonic balance method is extended to the nonlinear autonomous system with the non-analytic property, and the dynamic complexities of the system nea r the Hopf bifurcation point are analyzed.
