Abstract
Baroreflex dysfunction (BRD) is an uncommon but perplexing clinical en tity that occurs after an operation performed in the head and neck, Ca ses of BRD have occasionally been reported after bilateral carotid end arterectomies(1-3) and in rare brain-stem tumors.(4,5) We describe, fo r the first time to our knowledge, BRD in a patient after naso-pharyng ectomy and bilateral carotid isolation for recurrent nasopharyngeal ca rcinoma.
