Abstract
A rigorous method for analyzing axisymmetric radiating structures, using 2- D finite-element techniques and an expansion in spherical harmonics, is pre sented. The structure, represented by an equivalent multipole, is entirely characterized by its scattering matrix at the interfaces. The radiation pat terns and input impedances obtained far several antennas are presented. (C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
