Abstract
The purpose of this letter is to present an exact line integral representat ion of the PO field scattered from a penetrable planar structure illuminate d by a plane wale. The formulation is valid for an arbitrary position of th e observation point. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proce dure, an estimation of the decrease in computation time with respect to the traditional surface integration is reported as a function of the dimension s of the dielectric plate.
