Abstract
The nonlinear effects of an RF power amplifier on CDMA signals are analyzed and an estimation of the out-of-band emission levels for CDMA signals in t erms of the power transistor's traditional nonlinearity parameters and thir d- and fifth-order intermodulation points (IP3 and IP5) as well as the powe r level and bandwidth of the signal is derived. This result is useful to sy stem and component engineers in the the design and testing of RF power ampl ifiers for CDMA wireless systems.
