Synchrotron radiation (SR) has many excellent features and thus is a powerf
ul tool for basic research fields. Recently compact SR sources have been de
veloped and are installed in universities and private companies to study in
dustrial SR applications. This paper describes SR application research carr
ied out at NTT SR facility, which includes atomospheric photochemical react
ions, photochemical processing of materials, surface physics of semiconduct
ors, and X-ray optical devices.
