Abstract
Capillary parameters such as transmission efficiency and intensity gain are calculated for different energies. These parameters are obtained by using a mathematical model that calculates photon transport along these devices. The model assumes the usage of a monochromatic radiation source with charac teristics similar to those of synchrotron radiation. The mean divergence af ter the capillary exit and the active volume irradiated are calculated as a function of the energy of the incident photons. The results show interesti ng behaviors not reported before. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
