Abstract
Temperature dependences of refractive indices of lithium tantalate were mea sured in the range of 20-700 degrees C at three wavelengths of the mercury spectrum. The temperature dependence of the refractive index for the violet line was shown to be substantially stronger than those of the green and ye llow lines. Most attention was devoted to optical phenomena accompanying th e ferroelectric phase transition.
