Limits of soliton transmission systems induced by the non-ideal behavioursof the transmitter

We report a numerical study an optical transmission systems when the degrad ing effects of the transmitter are taken into account both in the case of d irect and external modulation. We consider soliton transmission on long dis tance assuming different propagation regime both in the presence and in the absence of in-line filers with constant chromatic dispersion and by using the dispersion management method.
