Abstract
Wavelet transform analysis of experimentally measured intensity fluctuation s distinguishes the transition from low frequency fluctuations at moderate feedback to stable operation at strong feedback. Comparison of these result s with those of a wavelet analysis of lowpass filtered solutions of the Lan g-Kobayashi equations far deterministic evolution of a single mode semicond uctor laser with optical feedback finds substantial agreement in the part o f the wavelet spectrum corresponding to slow dynamics. Substantial disagree ment is found in the fast dynamics, which lessens when noise is added to th e equations. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
