Abstract
We investigate the time evolution of the quadrature variances of the intra- cavity fields with a pulsed pump field and the steady state properties in t he continuously pumped case, where the cavity is detuned from one of the fi elds. We show that any detuning decreases the amplitude squeezing in the fu ndamental, but that the magnitude of the effect depends on which field is d etuned from the cavity resonance. We also find that an initially anti-squee zed quadrature can exhibit squeezing as the detuning increases. (C) 1998 El sevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
