Abstract
By making explicit use of the so-called 'Kambe structure constants', origin ally formulated for a theoretical description of low energy electron diffra ction (LEED), the screened KKR surface Green's function (SKKR-SGF) method f or layered systems can conceptually be extended to multilayer systems corre sponding to complex two-dimensional lattices and to layer relaxation at int erfaces (surfaces). In the present paper the screening properties of the 'K ambe structure constants' are illustrated.
