Abstract
The (non)invertibility of iterated dynamical systems is not necessarily pre served under computer discretization. This is shown for linear congruential generators and the circle map. For the latter, the loss of invertibility b ecomes worse for finer discretization steps. [S1063-651X(98)10112-5].
