A symmetric Schmitt trigger pumped by both a colored noise and a periodic s
ignal is investigated in the near-threshold regime, where the amplitude of
the periodic signal is set slightly above the trigger threshold. The trigge
r performances are shown, both theoretically and numerically, to be extreme
ly sensitive to increasing the noise correlation time. Noise-induced resona
