Abstract
The Rayleigh-Taylor evolution of 3D broadband perturbations seeded by 351-n m laser nonuniformities was measured in accelerated planar targets using x- ray radiography at similar to 1.3 keV. Fourier analysis shows that the pert ubations evolve to longer wavelengths with shorter wavelengths saturating. The saturation amplitudes and rates of growth of 3D features are consistent with the predictions of Haan [Phys. Rev. A 39, 5812 (1989)]. [S0031-9007(9 8)07891-0].
