Jm. Sisterson et al., MEASUREMENT OF PROTON PRODUCTION CROSS-SECTIONS OF BE-10 AND AL-26 FROM ELEMENTS FOUND IN LUNAR ROCKS, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 123(1-4), 1997, pp. 324-329
Proton production cross sections for Be-10, Al-26, Be-7 and Na-2Z prod
uced by protons in silicon dioxide (for oxygen) and silicon targets ov
er a wide proton energy range, 25-500 MeV, have been measured using ac
celerator mass spectrometry or nondestructive gamma-ray spectroscopy.
These cross sections are important for interpreting measurements of th
e concentration of these nuclides produced in extraterrestrial materia
ls by cosmic rays.
