Abstract
Present paper describes the Hungarian Expert Loose Part Detection System. T his system is a fully digitized loose part detection system, which also rec ords alarmed signals in digital form. HELPS utilizes several powerful data analysis methods (autoregressive modeling, sequential probability ratio tes t) in order to minimize the false alarm rate and maximize the sensitivity. The expert system built into HELPS also provides a very reliable classifica tion of observed events using very carefully selected descriptors specifica lly toned to loose part signal identification.
