Abstract
A 61-year old man fell and sustained an intracapital fracture of the 3rd me tacarpal bone with an unusual dislocation. Primary radiograph showed 180 de grees longitudinal rotation of the distal fragment. To reduce the fracture the metacarpophalangeal joint was opened and the fracture stabilised. The f racture healed after four weeks, and there was no sign of necrosis at the t hree month follow up.
