Abstract
The synthesis of enantiomerically enriched silicon containing amino acids i s described. Silylcupration of 2,2-dimethyl-3-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-4-ethyn yloxazolidine, easily derived from serine aldehyde, afforded regio- and ste reoselectively gamma-silylated ethenyloxazolidines of (E)-geometry as usefu l precursors of saturated and unsaturated gamma-silylated amino acids.
