Abstract
The concise synthesis of a group of five indane-based sesquiterpenoids , isolated from a marine origin, is reported. Carvacrol methyl ether w as chosen as the starting point for the syntheses, and the primnatrien e skeleton was produced by electrophilic aromatic substitution reactio ns.
