Abstract
Acute hyperammonemia is an emergent cause of central nervous system dysfunc tion for which renal replacement therapy is advocated. We report the succes sful use of continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration in this metabolic emerg ency, and report the calculated ammonia clearances for both continuous veno venous hemofiltration and hemodiafiltration.
