Abstract
In a histological survey of 1606 Atlantic salmon from south eastern Tasmani a only one infection with Kudoa thyrsites and one with Pleistophora sp. wer e detected. Possible reasons for these low prevalences are discussed. Incid ental lesions examined additional to the survey were examples of lymphoma, melanoma, thyroid tumors, chronic inflammatory tissue and abscess. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
