Abstract
Two cases of incidentally detected aneurysms involving the portal venous sy stem are described with emphasis on gray-scale and color Doppler ultrasonog raphic: (US) findings. Appearing on US as anechoic masses showing direct lu minal continuity with the right portal vein and superior mesenteric vein, t he lesions displayed spectral findings characteristic of portal venous syst em on color Doppler US. Dynamic helical computed tomography (CT) demonstrat ed simultaneous enhancement with the portal system, while the aneurysms wer e hypointense owing to flow void on T1-weighted spin-echo magnetic resonanc e (MR) images.
