F. Yuan et Jf. Lu, Dependence of the shock properties on the assumption to the flow motion and the shock condition, COMM TH PHY, 30(4), 1998, pp. 609-614
Almost all the authors who studied shocks in accretion flows adopted one of
the two kinds of approximations to the how: adiabatic or isothermal. And t
hey usually adopted different shock conditions in the two cases. The calcul
ation results of the shocks' properties, such as the shock location and the
shock strength, are greatly different in the two cases. In the present pap
er, we analyze the reason of the differences and show the respective effect
s of the assumption to the how and of the shock condition upon the results.
