Abstract
A tunnel-bridge has been constructed 40 meters above the bottom of the Grob er avalanche path to improve the traffic safety along the Bschlaber access- road (AuBerfern, Tirol). A maximum permissible static load of 20 kPa was al lowed in the design criteria. The results of the three dimensional numerica l simulation of the powder avalanche in the following are used as a basis f or similar projects for the safety of railroads and highwaysystems in the A ustrian Alps.
