The polyamides from the title diacid and various aromatic diamines were pre
pared using a direct polycondensation method. The polyamides were character
ized by means of FT-IR; inherent viscosity (eta(inh)). solubility test and
ultra-violet lambda(max). The thermal properties of the polyamides were inv
estigated using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning
calorimetry (DSC). The results showed that the polyamides have good thermal
stability and solubility. The most thermally stable polyamide in this seri
