In. Brovikova et al., Kinetic characteristics of formation and loss of hydrogen atoms in the positive column of a glow discharge in H-2-N-2 plasma, HIGH TEMP, 36(6), 1998, pp. 842-846
The fates of formation and concentration of N and H atoms, the rate constan
ts of their heterogeneous loss, and some other electrophysical characterist
ics of plasma were measured in the positive column of a de discharge in the
H-3(2) : N-2 gas mixture. Based on these data, it is found by a simultaneo
us solution of the Boltzmann equation and the equations of vibration kineti
cs for H-2(X(1)Sigma(2), N-2(X(1)Sigma(g)), and plasma conductivity that vi
brationally excited molecules have little effect on the processes involving
electrons, either directly or indirectly via the energy distribution funct
ion of electrons. The analysis of dissociation processes has revealed that,
along with the decay of electron states excited from Hz by electron impact
, the reactions of H-2 molecules with N-2(X(1)Sigma(g), V greater than or e
qual to 14) may play an important role in formation of H atoms.
