This paper presents the complete computed aided design approach for the des
ign of H-plane iris-coupled bandpass filters with improved stopband perform
ance, Iris-coupled bandpass filters with mixed (increased and decreased) ad
jacent resonator widths are proposed for the first time for improvement in
the stopband performance. The simulated filter performance shows improved s
topband performance and reduced filter dimensions compared with conventiona
l H-plane uniform corrugated waveguide bandpass filters. (C) 1999 John Wile
