Abstract
A new simple efficient Q-switched Nd:YVO4 mini disc laser pumped with a las er diode array is presented with a V-folded cavity. Its output properties a re characterized and the thermal effect is analyzed. The optical-optical co nversion efficiencies up to 68% for free-running operation and 8.7% for Q-s witching operation are demonstrated with a nearly diffracted-limited beam.
