Abstract
Micro-Raman spectra were collected from an MS (maximum strength) grade Mg-P SZ sample. Both the Mg-PSZ sample and the laser polarization were rotated a nd the resulting spectra examined. Quantitative analyses of these spectra s howed significant variation arising from the effect of grain orientation wi th respect to the laser polarization direction. The minimum collection volu me necessary for reproducible spectra was assessed. (C) 1998 Kluwer Academi c Publishers.
