Ga-71 NMR studies of liquid gallium embedded into a porous glass with
pores of about 4 nm in diameter are performed. Complicated shape of th
e Ga-71 line was found. Studying the melting-freezing phase transition
(PT) of gallium, it is shown that different components of the NMR lin
e correspond to two separate steps in the freezing and melting process
es. The hysteretic behavior at PT and depression of melting and freezi
ng temperatures compared to bulk gallium were observed. Anomalous depe
ndence of free induction decay on the length of excitation pulses was
examined.
