Abstract
Dislocation creep of pure magnesium is related to the [<11(2)over bar 0>]{0 001} basal slip systems up to 225 degrees C. Transmission electron microsco py of an ingot casting AZ91D magnesium alloy, crept at 180 degrees C, revea led dislocation segments which do not lie on the basal planes exist. It is therefore assumed that other slip systems are active in this alloy in addit ion to the basal ones. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science S.A. All righ ts reserved.
