Abstract
Application of radioactive phosphorus P-33 combined with differential filtration made it possible to estimate the time of phosphorus turnove r and the rate of its uptake by microplankton as a whole and in differ ent size fractions. Specific features of the ecosystems of the studied lakes were reflected in the relative rates of phosphorus uptake by th e microbial fraction of microplankton.
