ANNOTATED REFERENCE COMPILATION, 1995 UPDATE - CONDUCTING ECOLOGICAL RISK ASSESSMENTS AT HAZARDOUS-WASTE SITES

A 1994 Annotated Ecological Risk Assessment Reference Compilation was published in the Human and Ecological Risk Assessment journal December issue. This 1995 Update is even more focused for ecological risk asse ssments (ERAs) at hazardous waste sites. As the field of ERA. broadens , scientists from various disciplines are called upon to become assess ors. Although the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) is deve loping ERA guidance, quantitative methodology for each assessment diff ers. Currently, the quality of an ERA. depends upon the assessor's sci entific acumen, professional experience, and recognized reference docu ments. This reference compilation encompasses published documents whic h have provided useful and important information for qualitative and q uantitative ERAs. In addition, an ecotoxicological benchmark summary t able is provided. Benchmark compilation procedures and limitations are addressed.
