Abstract
Qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the bottom biocenoses in th e northem part of the Caspian Sea are presented. The following biocenoces w ith three levels of ranking are distinguished: superbiocenoses of fresh and low saline waters, and biocenoses and subbiocenoses of low saline waters.
