Abstract
We report here results from first order many body theory, distorted wave ap proximation, and converged dose coupling calculations for polarization frac tions and alignment creation parameters in the case of 2 S-1 --> n P-1(n = 3 - 5), 2 S-3 --> n P-1(n = 2 - 5), 2 S-1 --> n D-1(n = 3 - 5), 2 S-3 --> n D-1(n = 3 - 5), 2 S-3 --> n D-3(n = 3 - 5), and 2 S-1 --> n D-3(n = 3 - 5) excitations in helium for electron impact energies from threshold to sever al hundred eV.
