We present the results and analysis of magnetooptical measurements performe
d at LHe temperatures on thin n-CdTe layers doped with Indium or Iodine, gr
own on an undoped CdTe buffer and a semiinsulating GaAs substrate. We show
the possibility of metastable population of shallow donor centers in undope
d CdTe. We report the difference in chemical shifts of different species. T
he dependence of the shape of the obtained spectra on the location of donor
centers relative to the interface is discussed. The analysis of the temper
ature and voltage dependence of the shape of spectra shows that non-Gaussia
n shape of the peaks should be considered.
