Abstract
An infinite dimensional algebraic approach is introduced to derive exact pa rticle-number conserving solutions of the nuclear mean-field plus separable orbit-dependent pairing Hamiltonian. As examples, some low-lying levels, s pectroscopic factors, and even-odd mass differences of Ni58-65 isotopes are calculated and compared with experimental values, shell model, and equal s trength pairing results.
